Stella is full of character and antique charm. Historical records suggest she was built in the late 1800s and relocated from Oak Bluffs' Methodist campgrounds. Along with updated features, the house retains many of the antique furnishings and nautical-style construction found in turn-of-the-century Vineyard homes.
maximum occupancy: We have found the house is most comfortable for groups of four or six. Although it can accommodate more, we do not encourage groups larger than six.
first & second floor layout
The first floor has one-and-a-half baths, a small full kitchen (no dishwasher), living room, dining room, a bedroom with private entrance, a front wrap-around porch with rockers, and two small back porches, one of which is screened. The second floor is accessed by a main front staircase as well as a narrow back staircase, and includes three bedrooms plus a deck with ocean view.
what to bring · laundry
▸ Guests bring their own bed linens and towels. All bedrooms are furnished with twin beds: three upstairs bedrooms have a total of 5 twins; the downstairs bedroom has one twin and a low day bed that's okay for sleeping in a pinch.
▸ The house does not have a washer/dryer, but there are laundromat and laundry services less than a mile away in Oak Bluffs. The clothesline is handy for bathing suits, towels, etc.
details
▸ Color TV with cable, DVD player, VCR
▸ In addition to the shower in the full bath, there is an outdoor solar shower that's handy for rinsing off after the beach
▸ The free-standing garage does not house cars; rather it contains beach accessories, tools, etc, and is a good place to lock bikes if you bring them or rent them.
references
Due to the nature of online accommodations we require that new renters provide two references. If we cannot meet you in person, we need to speak with you by telephone to make sure the house will suit your needs. For groups under 21 years of age an adult's signature is required on the rental agreement.
